The Joke Index was created as a portal providing access to thousands of funny jokes, humor, humorous anecdotes, satire and stories in order to give people a chance to get away from the stress of everyday life.

Today's world is filled with stress, unhappyness, sadness and anger. Everywhere you look there are problems. These problems come at us at a much faster pace than in years gone by. The stress of living in and coping with today's world is causing more and more people to become physicaly sick. Stress has become a disease in itself. This disease can cause heart attacks, increase the risk of cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, gatrointestinal disorders, neurological disorders, angina, headaches, backaches and many other physical and nervous system disorders.

Laughter is one thing that can, in many ways, help reduce the stress, depression and anger that occur while coping in today's world. Laughter can, at times, be as they say "the best medicine". Reading, telling or listening to jokes and humor can make you laugh. When you are laughing you are not thinking about problems and therefore your stress, depression or anger is reduced or alleviated. Alleviating or reducing stress, depression and anger can in many cases alleviate or reduce physical ailments.

There are numerous joke and humor sites on the internet, however a large number of them are filled with numerous pop-up, pop-under and or flashing adds. Others have tons of ads on the pages and some even have ads that are linked in the words of the jokes. These things can interfere with or even ruin your enjoyment of the jokes and humor they contain. Some of those sites can even cause anger and increase your stress.

We have created a portal to blogs, websites and web pages that do not contain pop-up, pop-under, word context ads or heavy advertising that could interfere with or frustrate your enjoyment of the jokes and humor contained withing the sites. In this portal we are trying to give access to as many different categories as possible. You won't, however, find categories that we feel are in really bad taste. As we come across new blogs, sites and pages that meet our requirements we will be adding them to this portal. Some of the blogs, web sites and pages listed here have hundreds of jokes and some have only a few jokes. Quality is more important to us than quantity.
